Are you missing some or all of your permanent teeth? If you would like to restore the beauty and functionality of your smile, ask Dr. Bethaney B. Brenner about dentures. A denture is an appliance that replaces missing permanent teeth and restores your smile. Our office offers complete dentures and partial dentures.

Complete dentures are used when all of your permanent teeth are missing. Complete dentures come in two types: conventional and immediate. Conventional dentures are made after any remaining teeth have been removed and your gums have had a chance to heal. Conventional dentures are ready for placement about 8 to 12 weeks after your teeth have been removed. Immediate dentures are made in advance, so they can be placed as soon as your teeth are removed. While you will not have to go without teeth during the healing process, the bones and gums shrink during the healing period. Because of this, immediate dentures will need many adjustments and are usually only used until conventional dentures can be made.

A removable partial denture is made up of replacement teeth attached to a gum-colored base. This is sometimes connected to a metal framework that holds the denture in place.
